Maple Creams



Ingredients (use vegan versions):

  • 2 cup flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 sticks Crisco
  • 1 tablespoon imitation butter flavor
  • 3/4 cup vegan maple syrup
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon Ener-G mixed with 2 tablespoon tepid water
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts and pecans



Ingredients (use vegan versions):

  • 1 cup 10x vegan sugar
  • 4 tablespoon Crisco
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon imitation butter flavor
  • 1/4 cup vegan maple syrup


To prepare cookies, mix flour and salt; set aside. In large bowl
combine remaining cookie ingredients in order listed, mixing well.
Add flour mixture, then nuts (add a bit more flour to achieve
necessary consistency). Shape mixture into small balls and bake in
preheated 350 degree oven for about 6 minutes; cool on rack. Makes
about 100 dainty cookies.

To prepare frosting, combine ingredients in order listed, adding more
vegan sugar or syrup to achieve spreading consistency. Frost cookies at
room temperature and store in air-tight container until dry.
(Frosting recipe makes enough for two batches of cookies.)
